The Office of Industrial Relations (OIR) is looking for a dynamic Manager to lead a high-performing team within the Industrial Relations Policy and Legislation (IRPL) branch.

Your impact
In this role, you will:
- Lead a skilled team of policy professionals to develop and implement legislative and policy initiatives and to monitor developments in industrial relations that could affect Queensland businesses and workers.
- Provide expert advice to the Minister, Director, and senior executives on strategic direction, trends, and emerging issues.
- Represent the Department in stakeholder forums, public events, and high-level government meetings.
- Lead cross-agency working groups and manage complex projects that shape Queensland's policy landscape.
- Guide the development of high-quality briefings, Cabinet submissions, and legislative documents.
- Foster a culture of innovation, collaboration, and continuous improvement within your team.

Your responsibilities
Key responsibilities include:
- Providing strategic leadership and management to the IRPL team.
- Shaping and influencing legislative reform and policy implementation.
- Preparing advice, briefings, and Cabinet submissions for senior stakeholders.
- Representing OIR in external forums and negotiations with industry and union leaders.
- Monitoring national and international trends and recommending Queensland's policy responses.
- Supporting a safe, inclusive, and high-performing workplace.
What we're looking for
We're seeking someone with demonstrated excellence in:
- Leading teams in complex policy environments, particularly within government.
- Designing, delivering, and evaluating policy and legislative initiatives.
- Navigating government processes and driving outcomes at the senior level.
- Providing authoritative, evidence-based policy advice in industrial relations or a related field.
- Building strategic relationships with senior government, industry, and union stakeholders.
- Communicating with influence in high-pressure and politically sensitive contexts.
Desirable qualifications
While not mandatory, qualifications in law, public policy, industrial relations, or a related discipline are highly regarded.
