About the role
Permanent, fixed term temporary full time and part time opportunity to provide clinical services, consultancy, and advanced clinical leadership relevant to the speciality of Voluntary Assisted Dying. The Clinical Nurse Consultant (CNC) provides direct and indirect care as required and works in collaboration with the wider health care team to provide safe, high-quality healthcare through exemplary clinical nursing standards of practice for the specialty of Voluntary Assisted Dying within Metro North Health.
About you
Our ideal candidate will be someone who can carry out the following key accountabilities in accordance with the Metro North Health's values:
- Demonstrate advanced specialist knowledge, experience, and clinical skills relevant to VAD.
- Support authorised voluntary assisted dying practitioners from across Metro North Health through mentoring and supervision to ensure safe and empathetic care is provided to the consumer and family.
- Consult with and provide expert nursing advice to achieve integrated care within health services across the continuum of care for each patient known to the VAD team.
- Triage referrals, including facilitation of supported self-assessment for eligibility and coordinate patient care throughout the Voluntary Assisted Dying process in collaboration with authorised VAD practitioners.
