Principal Policy Officer
Norfolk Island Partnerships and Governance; Implementation Division; Brisbane City
As a Principal Policy Officer you will assist in the design, implementation and oversight of state-services delivered by the Queensland Government to Norfolk Island. You will work in partnership with our stakeholders and across government to deliver best practice policy advice to the Premier, and the Implementation Division.
You will support the development of innovative service delivery options to ensure the Norfolk Island community have access to state-level services comparable to mainland communities provide oversight of the services being delivered by the Queensland Government to Norfolk Island and provide high level advice and policy analysis on cross-portfolio aspects of the state’s service delivery role.

As a Principal Policy Officer you will assist in the design, implementation and oversight of state-services delivered by the Queensland Government to Norfolk Island. You will work in partnership with our stakeholders and across government to deliver best practice policy advice to the Premier, and the Implementation Division. You will support the development of innovative service delivery options to ensure the Norfolk Island community have access to state-level services comparable to mainland communities provide oversight of the services being delivered by the Queensland Government to Norfolk Island and provide high level advice and policy analysis on cross-portfolio aspects of the state's service delivery role.
What you'll be doing
In this role you will get the opportunity to:
- Manage the coordinated whole of government development and implementation of policy, legislation and programs.
- Monitor, review and report on the Norfolk Island service delivery intergovernmental agreement deliverables, including risk and governance frameworks in place.
- Lead development of policy advice, briefing and submissions to assist Government decision making.
- Build productive and collaborative working relationships with other government agencies, other levels of government and with the private sector on significant matters.
- Provide high level expertise and advice to the Norfolk Island Partnerships and Governance leadership team and Senior Executives.
- Represent the Branch, the Division or the Department as required at inter[1]departmental and inter-governmental meetings.
