TARGETED VACANCY - You will be responsible for supporting tribunal decision makers and parties during QCAT proceedings, recording and monitoring of proceedings in accordance with the Recording of Evidence Act 1962, and general administrative tasks including drafting, and issuing tribunal orders and facilitating appearances of parties attending proceedings.
About the Role
You will be responsible for supporting tribunal decision makers and parties during QCAT proceedings, recording and monitoring of proceedings in accordance with the Recording of Evidence Act 1962, and general administrative tasks including drafting, and issuing tribunal orders and facilitating appearances of parties attending proceedings.
Your key responsibilities
You will:
- Ensure the effective execution of administrative processes and provide support to tribunal decision-makers in the hearing room, contribute to comprehensive services for members of the public, judicial officers, and various internal and external stakeholders.
- Support tribunal decision-makers in the hearing room including coordinating attendance of tribunal users (including using telephone and video conferencing) and managing exhibits during hearings.
- Effectively and efficiently manage the recording and transcription services for QCAT proceedings, in line with responsibilities under the Recording of Evidence Act 1962.
- Effectively and efficiently support the needs of clients and the public attending proceedings. This includes cultivating and nurturing professional and collaborative relationships based on respectful and confidential engagement with key stakeholders including tribunal decision-makers.
- Provide accurate information to registry staff, and QCAT judicial officers and tribunal decision-makers in a professional and friendly manner.
- Undertake accurate computer-based processing using QCAT's file management systems and recording programs, including drafting and issuing tribunal orders.
- Prepare and update documents using Microsoft Office programs such as Word, PowerPoint and Excel.
- Adhere to established administrative processes, policies and procedures related to tribunal and registry operations in strict accordance with relevant legislation, departmental policies and procedures to ensure timeliness and accuracy.
- Prioritise tasks in a fast paced and high-volume environment to enable the provision of effective hearing support services.
- Take ownership of developing skills, maintaining up-to-date knowledge of current practices and procedures, seeking feedback, and staying motivated when managing challenging tasks.
- Complete general administrative tasks as required by team leaders and/or manager to support the delivery of services within QCAT.
