Working with us

    • for 1 year will get you an isolation bonus of AUD$3,500. If you stay for 2 years you will get AUD$10,500… and for your 3rd year (and every year after that) you will get AUD$7,000.

In your downtime, we will provide 2 return airfares p.a. (inc. spouse/dependents) to the nearest east coast provincial city in conjunction with your recreation leave; of which we offer 5 weeks p.a. with a 17.5% loading/bonus.

  • Base Salary ranges between $71,234 and $75,602 p.a. (Nurse Grade 3).
  • 12.75% employer superannuation contribution.
  • Long Service Leave and Sick Leave accrual.
  • Tax savings through salary sacrificing options are also available.

About the role

Julia Creek Multipurpose Health Service (MPHS) is an approved level 2 clinical facility with 4 residential aged care beds, 2 acute beds, 2 observation bay beds and 1 resus/ED room. Patients who require a higher level of care are transferred to an appropriate facility, usually in Mt Isa or Townsville. Clients needing Ortho, Cardiac, Ophthalmology, ICU or Vascular services will be transferred to Townsville in most cases.

The Enrolled Nurse (EN) practices under direct and/or indirect supervision of a Registered Nurse (RN) / Registered Midwife (RM); utilising clinical skills to provide evidence-based person-centred care within Julia Creek MPHS. The EN consolidates knowledge and skills moving from beginner to experienced, applying their depth of knowledge and competence to effectively develop, provide and evaluate patient care, with regular communication and/or assistance from the Registered Nurse.

Requirements

  • Mandatory requirements are a relevant tertiary degree qualification and appropriate registration/licences as an Enrolled Nurse.
  • Appointees will be required to work all shifts in accordance with the unit roster.
  • Medication endorsement is a preferred requirement but not mandatory for this position.
  • C Class Motor Vehicle Licence.
  • Pre-employment screening will be conducted for the successful applicant, including Criminal History checks / Aged Care Checks.
  • This is a VPD risk role and may require evidence of vaccination or immunity to: Hepatitis A/B, Measles, Mumps, Rubella, Varicella, Pertussis, and Tuberculosis.
  • A period of probation may apply.
