Queensland Academy for Health Sciences is offering a fantastic opportunity for an energetic, highly skilled, and passionate Gym Supervisor to join our team of dedicated professionals.
The successful applicant will provide personal training, gym programming, and group classes to support our high-performing Year 10-12 secondary students.
This role is a split position, working from 6:30 am - 8:30 am and again from 2:00 pm - 4:00 pm, Monday to Friday.
This is 40 hours per fortnight (FTE of 0.53) until 12 December 2025, unless otherwise determined.

About the Role
As the Gym Supervisor, your responsibilities and opportunities will include, but are not limited to:
Your opportunities:
- Contribute to the effective and efficient management of the gym and sport center by providing high quality, results focused personal training through the safe delivery of engaging programs, instruction, education and motivation.
- Work independently within general directions and instructions, and perform responsible tasks associated with the effective monitoring and maintenance of gym equipment and promotion of healthy lifestyle choices.
Your responsibilities
- Sessions are a combination of personal training support/gym supervision and HIIT style training programs according to the daily schedule.
- You will be integral in bringing your positive disposition and welcoming professionalism to our school community with a focus of inclusion, diversity, support and positive engagement for staff and students at all levels in their fitness capabilities
- Your passion and enthusiasm for wellness will inspire students to maintain balance in a high-level curriculum and promote a lifelong commitment towards health, movement, creativity and wellbeing within our school community.
- Your ability to think and plan creatively, work autonomously, actively supervise, lead innovative programs and build positive relationships will be crucial. Your zest for an ever-evolving fitness program, flexibility, strengths-based approach and positive attitude will be highly valued.
- Provide high-quality, scientifically evidenced, and age-appropriate personal training through the safe delivery of effective programs, instruction, and motivational individual and group sessions.
- Deliver age-appropriate and relevant instruction to students in exercise techniques and equipment use, including the active supervision of all students during gym operating hours.
- Perform pre-exercise screenings, gym inductions, and ongoing evaluations.
- Monitor gym equipment and advise management of any maintenance requirements.
- Provide basic first aid if required and liaise with the Business Manager or other supervisor to complete any necessary documentation related to injury management procedures.
