As the Principal HR Business Partner, you will lead collaboration between client portfolios and the HR team to deliver expert advice, identify organisational capability requirements, and enhance HR service delivery to achieve business outcomes.

What you'll do

  • Lead and manage a team of HR professionals to deliver contemporary and outstanding HR services to client portfolios through excellence in customer service. Coach and mentor team members to effectively partner with clients to deliver HR solutions and offer professional advice and development. 
  • Develop and maintain a collaborative strategic relationship with client portfolio leaders and their teams by developing a deep understanding of their business and through the provision of contemporary human resources and consultancy services to ensure delivery of best practice people strategies and solutions and the achievement of business objectives.
  • Lead and operate as a strategic partner to deliver technical and strategic human resources advice and recommendations across a broad range of areas such as workforce planning, performance management, complex issue resolution and HR programs and policy.

About you

We are searching for someone with:

  • Expertise in leading and managing a team of HR professionals, ensuring a high-performance culture exists within the team, with a focus on continuous improvement, efficiency, and excellence in service delivery.
  • Significant communication, consultation, interpersonal and negotiation skills including the ability to partner with a range of clients and stakeholders and influence senior management in the implementation of HR management strategies, systems, frameworks, and processes, within a large and geographically dispersed public sector organisation.
  • Exceptional written and interpersonal communication skills, including complex and comprehensive advice, presentation, and report writing capabilities with the ability to understand and interpret data and legislation as it relates to HR management activities.
  • Display a high level of integrity and resilience with the capacity to monitor, prioritise and meet deadlines by taking responsibility to produce quality output and timely outcomes in a business partnering environment.
