Director, Rural and Remote

The Director, Rural and Remote is responsible for strategic leadership and oversight of rural and remote initiatives across the Queensland Ambulance Service, ensuring rural and remote priorities are embedded in service planning and delivery, policy, and procedural frameworks.
It drives inclusive organisational policy and procedure development that reflects the needs of our diverse communities and ensures sustainable, culturally responsive outcomes are achieved across rural and remote Queensland.

We are seeking applicants who, within the context of the role responsibilities, possess the following key attributes:
• Demonstrated high-level leadership experience in a health, emergency services or public sector environment, with a strong understanding of the challenges and opportunities specific to rural and remote service delivery.
• Proven ability to lead and motivate diverse teams and stakeholders across geographically dispersed locations, including managing competing priorities while ensuring inclusive, place-based solutions.
• Demonstrated success in driving strategic reform and implementing initiatives that improve equity, access, and responsiveness for rural and remote communities.
• Highly developed communication, consultation, and stakeholder engagement skills, with the ability to build trusted relationships and influence outcomes across a wide range of community, government, and service delivery partners.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving capabilities, including the ability to interpret performance data, identify emerging issues and trends, and deliver continuous improvement in rural and remote contexts.
• Demonstrated experience in strategic planning and policy development, particularly in the design, delivery and evaluation of initiatives tailored to the needs of rural and remote communities.
The following mandatory requirements, special conditions and/or other requirements apply to this role:
• Whilst not mandatory, the possession of tertiary or postgraduate qualification/s in a relevant discipline will be highly regarded.
• The incumbent may be required to travel on official business and the possession of a C class driver's licence may be required.
