QRO is seeking a dynamic and visionary senior executive to join our leadership team as Assistant Commissioner. This is an outstanding opportunity to influence public outcomes and help fund essential services and infrastructure, including education, health, public safety and transport services.
As Assistant Commissioner, you will report to a Deputy Commissioner and be responsible for one of QRO's service groups—Taxes; Revenue and Grants; Fines and SPER (State Penalties Enforcement Registry); or Enabling Services. You will lead a team of approximately 200 professionals and drive strategic direction, service delivery, and performance of a QRO group.
About the Role
As part of QRO's executive leadership team, you will:
• Lead strategic planning, operational delivery, and cultural transformation across a major functional group.
• Deliver efficient, high-quality revenue, compliance, and grant administration services to Queenslanders.
• Work alongside professional, highly respected colleagues in a collaborative culture.
• Lead high performing, client focused teams
• Provide expert policy, legislative, and operational advice to key stakeholders.
• Foster a culture of accountability, service excellence and professional growth.
• Engage across government and the community to build partnerships that advance whole-of-government priorities.
About You
We're looking for a collaborative, strategic executive with:
• A strong track record of senior leadership in a large and complex organisation (public or private sector).
• Deep experience in navigating complex environments, fostering high-performing cultures, and delivering client-centric outcomes.
• Deep understanding of regulatory, governance, compliance environments or public policy environments.
• Proven ability to lead large teams, drive performance, and deliver outcomes at scale.
• Outstanding communication, stakeholder engagement, and leadership capability.
