Permanent full time role
Based in Mount Isa or negotiated fly-in-fly out arrangement to Mount Isa Hospital.
This role plays a critical role in the management of healthcare data and information. They are responsible for ensuring the accuracy, confidentiality, and accessibility of patient health information in compliance with relevant laws, regulations, and ethical standards.

- base salary ranges between $150,906 and $159,677 p.a. (PO6).

About the role
Permanent full time role
Develop, implement, maintain and review strategies to manage and continually improve administrative support function of the Medical Records Department whilst meeting the objectives of organisational requirements.
Coordinate and manage the obligations and provisions of high-quality Right to Information and Information Privacy (RTI/IP) legislation, Administrative Access policy, Personal Injuries Proceedings Act.
Provision of education to clinicians, to improve clinical documentation and coding quality.
Requirements
- Possession of a qualification in Bachelor of Health Science (Health Information Management) from a registered tertiary institution or equivalent is mandatory for this position and eligibility for membership of the Health Information Management Association of Australia (HIMAA) is mandatory for appointment to this position..
- C Class Motor Vehicle Licence.
- Pre-employment screening will be conducted for the successful applicant, including Criminal History checks.
- This is a VPD risk role and may require evidence of vaccination or immunity to: Hepatitis A/B, Measles, Mumps, Rubella, Varicella, Pertussis, and Tuberculosis.
- A period of probation may apply.
