Charters Towers Health Service is a 25-bed facility providing integrated acute and primary health care services through a range of programs including: community, child, youth and family, mental health, Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander health and outreach services.

Charters Towers is one of the most beautiful inland cities in Queensland, with its unrivalled architecture and unique history, Discover this enchanting outback town which is just an hour and a half west of Townsville. 

We offer attractive remuneration packages and generous leave entitlements.

  • Salary range: $3171.90 to $4068.50 p.f or $41.73 to $53.53 p.h. (Nurse Grade 5)
  • 4 to 6 weeks annual leave with 14%-17.5% loading
  • 12.75% employer contribution to superannuation
  • Plus Salary Sacrificing options may be available
  • Flexible working arrangements available

About your opportunity

Provide direct nursing care utilising clinical skills, education and support to patients/clients and nursing staff within the Unit to ensure the provision of best practice and quality patient care.

Requirements:

  • Mandatory qualifications and proof of registration
  • Qualification: Bachelor of Nursing or equivalent certification relevant to the position is mandatory.
  • Nursing: Appointment to this position requires proof of qualification and registration with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA) and possession of a current practising certificate.
  • Highly Desirable: Experience in Emergency Department and a current Adult Life Support certificate.
  • Adult Life Support certificate: Must be able to obtain and then maintain an annual competency in Advanced Life Support as per THHSCLI040151 Life Support Training and Assessment
  • Shift Workers: Appointees will be required to work all shifts in accordance with the unit roster, which will include participation in an on-call roster.
  • Drivers Licence: This position requires the incumbent to operate a class C motor vehicle and an appropriate license endorsement to operate this vehicle is required.
  • This is a Vaccine Preventable Disease (VPD) risk role.
  • Probation period may apply.
  • Pre-employment checks will be conducted.
