Townsville Hospital and Health Service are seeking a Clinical Nuurse to join the Anaesthetics team within Operating Theatres at the Townsville University Hospital on temporary part-time basis, 19/07/2025 - 19/07/2026 (40 hours per fortnight). There is a possibility of an additional 12 months extension.

This is a job share arrangement and requires flexibility with working days and shifts across Monday to Friday.

About your opportunity
The Clinical Nurse Facilitator, Anaesthetics, actively guides, mentors and provides support to operating theatre graduate nurses, students and new staff. The facilitator will work collaboratively with the Perioperative Nurse Educator to provide direct nursing care utilising clinical skills, education and support to patients/clients and nursing staff within the unit to ensure the provision of best practice and quality patient care. The facilitator will actively participate in the Graduate Nurse training program and subsequent projects.

This role provides leadership whilst performing the role of the Anaesthetic nurse within this operating theatre when required.

This temporary position is a job share arrangement and requires flexibility with working days and shifts across Monday to Friday.

Competitive salary and benefits:

We offer attractive remuneration packages and generous leave entitlements.

  • Salary range: $54.44 to $58.30 p.h. (NG6-1)
  • 4 to 6 weeks annual leave with 14%-17.5% loading
  • 12.75% employer contribution to superannuation
  • Plus Salary Sacrificing options may be available
  • Add in about flexible working arrangements if applicable to role or hiring manager

Requirements:

  • Qualification: Bachelor of Nursing or equivalent certification relevant to the position is mandatory.
  • Highly Desirable: Possession of a relevant postgraduate qualification in an appropriate field is highly desirable. Such experience may be discipline specific or have a service area focus.
  • Shift Workers: Appointees will be required to work all shifts in accordance with the unit roster, which will include participation in an on-call roster.
  • This is a Vaccine Preventable Disease (VPD) risk role. Hepatitis B, Measles, Mumps, Rubella, Varicella, Pertussis and Tuberculosis.
  • Pre-employment checks will be conducted. Criminial History Checks
