Join the lean, dynamic Digital Innovations team within the Strategic Communication Branch as a Principal Content Strategist and play a pivotal role in shaping the content and user experience across DTET’s digital products.
Collaborating with clients in a high-velocity environment, you’ll champion user-centred design principles to create meaningful and accessible content solutions. You’ll also build strong relationships with the team and stakeholders, ensuring content alignment with strategic goals, and oversee the development of content governance, processes and workflows in consultation with business areas, driving the innovation and efficiency that plays a key role in ensuring the department’s key priorities and initiatives are communicated to all Queenslanders.

About the role:
As the Principal Content Strategist, you will:
• Collaborate with a team of content and technical professionals to deliver exceptional user experiences across Department of Trade, Employment and Training (DTET) digital products, aligning with the organisation's strategic priorities.
• Develop, implement, and review content architecture based on user-centred design principles for a range of DTET digital products.
• Establish and manage strong relationships while providing strategic content advice to executive leaders, stakeholders and partners across DTET and other Queensland Government agencies.
• Coordinate stakeholder relationship management by identifying, analysing and monitoring relationships, ensuring clear communication, understanding mutual needs and commitments and balancing impacts with user needs.
• Provide expert advice and guidance on governance, processes, and workflows to support effective content solutions.
• Manage the development and ongoing refinement of contemporary content processes, strategies, and guidelines aligned with DTET and other agency objectives, maintaining a focus on user needs.
• Contribute to strategic and operational planning activities, ensuring adherence to human resource and financial management policies.
• Promote team, division, and organisational culture by supporting staff engagement strategies and demonstrating commitment to Queensland Public Service and DTET values.

• Demonstrate extensive experience in content management systems and content operations within large organisations.
• Provide strategic direction while managing and mentoring a multidisciplinary agile team.

• Build and sustain strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders to support best practice content experiences and business goals.
• Plan and manage projects effectively, balancing numerous competing priorities.
• Apply high-level analytical skills by using data and user research to make informed decisions about content and the user experience.
