Craigslea SHS is seeking a Head of Department - Middle School / eLearning, for a full-time permanent position commencing Semester 2.The Head of Department - Middle School & eLearning holds a dual leadership role with distinct yet complementary responsibilities. As the Middle School HOD, the focus is on leading student wellbeing, behaviour, and engagement across Years 9 and 10. This involves working closely with students, staff, and families to support a positive school culture and ensure students are well-supported during the middle secondary phase of learning.You will specialise in eLearning, driving innovation in digital pedagogy and the integration of eLearning practices across the school. This includes building staff capability, enhancing student engagement, and leading strategic improvement initiatives aligned with school priorities and the curriculum.

About Craigslea State High School
Craigslea State High School provides a caring, safe and disciplined learning environment for Years 7 to 12. Founded in 1975, Craigslea State High School is an independent public school located on approximately 10 hectares. About the Role
Middle School Leadership:
- Focus on initiatives to support the educational outcomes for students, specifically in the middle phase of learning
- Determine actions for at risk students through data analysis at key junctures, and strategize interventions
- Attendance - Track key attendance data sets with focus on YTD, TTD and weekly trends.
- Behaviour - Track student behaviour data with a focus on daily, weekly and termly junctures, and Case Managed students. Lead behaviour initiatives including referrals for proactive programs and supportive measures
- Academic - Identify and analyse patterns and trends of academic headline data sets (termly LOA/ NAPLAN) and lead academic improvement interventions where applicable.
- Lead SETP processes and career development programs suitable for Middle phase of learning students and junctures
eLearning Leadership:
- Lead whole-school and departmental initiatives involving learning management systems (e.g. QLearn, OneSchool, Microsoft Teams), educational technologies, and blended learning.
- Support staff in building confidence and capability in digital pedagogy through coaching, workshops, and resource development.
- Collaborate with IT support and curriculum leaders to ensure access to appropriate tools, platforms, and training.
