This role provides contemporary, recovery-oriented psychology services to young adult, adolescent and children consumers, and their families/carers experiencing complex mental ill health, including comorbid alcohol and drug concerns and other dual diagnosis issues including complex behaviours, within a mental health multidisciplinary team, through the application of evidence based treatment that is informed by clinical supervision and education.

The Role
An opportunity has become available for a Psychologist - Senior (Wattle Inpatient Unit) to join Gold Coast Health (GCH) where the focus of our 12 000-strong team is on providing world-class health care to people living in the Gold Coast, and northern New South Wales region of Australia.
You will
- Provide high level clinical psychology services including psychological assessment, treatment and rehabilitation services to assist consumers
- Demonstrate developed knowledge and clinical skill providing intensive, developmentally-appropriate, consumer-centred, mental health interventions and ongoing assessments for consumers who require high intensity services
- Utilise independent clinical reasoning and professional judgement requiring minimum supervision in the selection of appropriate psychometric measures and preparation of psychological reports and treatment recommendations
- Contribute to the development of clinical practice procedures and protocols, for both the discipline and the multi-disciplinary team, that support the continuum of care for consumers and families
About you
To be successful in this position you will require:
- A tertiary degree in Psychology
- AHPRA Registration
- Evidence of vaccination, or be able to be vaccinated against and remain vaccinated against - Measles, Mumps, Rubella, Varicella, Pertussis and Hepatitis B
- Tuberculosis screening, to identify if the tuberculosis vaccination may be required
- Declaration of serious discipline history must be disclosed
- Criminal History Screening will be required for new employees (GCH will cover cost)

Salary
- Temporary full time (12 months)
- Base salary ranging from $128 169 - $137 918 per annum
About Us
The Service provides integrated evidence based psychological services to consumers of the Child and Youth Mental Health Services Inpatient Unit in the Gold Coast Hospital and Health Service. This will be achieved within recognised guidelines and frameworks and through the application of evidence-based practice principles for clinical education, leadership, and portfolio management.
The Wattle Unit provides 24-hour care for children and adolescents who are experiencing severe emotional or behavioural disturbances and is located at G Block Robina Hospital. Consumers are admitted to the 8-bed unit for the treatment of acute mental illnesses, comprehensive assessments or for planned psychotherapy.
