As the Executive Officer you will be responsible for providing high level and confidential administration support and coordination activities for the Assistant Director-General (ADG), Queensland Civil and Administrative Tribunal (QCAT), Courts and Tribunals.
Courts and Tribunals is a division of the Department of Justice and Attorney-General. The division is made up of over 1,500 skilled and dedicated staff working across Queensland. These staff deliver a diverse range of frontline and support services designed to assist Queensland’s independent judiciary and tribunal members and promote quality outcomes for the community.

• Research, coordinate and/or prepare complex correspondence, memoranda and briefings on a wide range of subjects including confidential and sensitive matters (such as annual reports, ministerial correspondence, general briefing notes, questions on notice, estimates papers, service delivery statements, speeches and parliamentary requests) and on a range of organisational issues as required ensuring deadlines are met as required and high-quality standards are maintained.
• Provide high level management of the effective dissemination of correspondence received by the ADG, making decisions on actions, priorities and, where necessary, preparing appropriate responses.
• Manage and provide strategic advice to officers across QCAT regarding Ministerial, Cabinet, Parliament, and Executive Council matters.
• Participate in change processes within QCAT that improve service delivery and develop clear messaging for the ADG around the change, as per recommendations from reviews, evaluations, audits, or other relevant inquiries.
• Identify opportunities for business improvement in QCAT's processes and systems and lead and influence change processes across multi-disciplinary business units.
• Build and maintain positive relationships with the QCAT senior leadership group and officers and advisors throughout Courts and Tribunals providing appropriate advice as and when required.
• Provide high level secretariat support for meetings and committees, including bookings, preparing agendas, papers and minutes and following up on action items.
• Provide support to the Assistant Director-General to understand the impact of legislative amendments by supplying the required information and for compliance and research when implementing associated changes including for compliance and reporting as required.
• Foster an inclusive work environment ensuring that health, safety, and wellbeing is promoted and prioritised.
