About the work unit / facility
Joyce Palmer Health Service consists of an Emergency Department, 15 bed inpatient unit, renal dialysis services and home care services. Primary health care services are provided by the Palm Island Community Company. Townsville HHS does provide oral health, community mental health, midwifery services (antenatal and post-natal services) and specialist outreach services. Joyce Palmer Health Service promotes and supports an integrated service provision across all aspects of care, aiming to achieve appropriate and timely access to care for all residents of Palm Island.

Competitive salary and benefits:
We offer attractive remuneration packages and generous leave entitlements.
- Salary range: $82,753 to $106,144 p.a. (Nurse Grade 5)
- 4 to 6 weeks annual leave with 14%-17.5% loading
- 12.75% employer contribution to superannuation

- On-call and shift allowances (if/when applicable)
About your opportunity
The purpose of this position is to provide high quality, evidence-based nursing care to the people of Palm Island. This will include working in all areas of emergency and inpatient services.
Requirements:
- Bachelor of Nursing or equivalent certification relevant to the position and registration with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA).
- Appointees will be required to work all shifts in accordance with the unit roster, which will include participation in an on-call roster.
Highly desirable
Emergency Department experience and a current Adult Life Support certificate.
