About Us
Property Services is the team behind the scenes ensuring the Parliamentary Precinct in Brisbane – and 97 electorate offices across Queensland – are safe, functional, and welcoming. From building refurbishments and sustainable upgrades, we take care of the spaces that support our state's democracy.
The Opportunity
We're on the lookout for a motivated Project Officer to join our collaborative and professional team. You'll take the lead on coordinating projects—like office fit-outs and facility upgrades—making sure everything runs like clockwork. You'll engage with a wide range of stakeholders, problem-solve on the fly, and have a direct impact on the workplace environment for Members and staff.
Your Day-to-Day Might Include:
- Managing the full life cycle of capital works and maintenance projects;
- Coordinating fit-outs and refurbishments, from design to delivery;
- Visiting sites to inspecting spaces, arranging supplies, and liaising with contractors;
- Ensuring all documentation and processes meet compliance standards;
- Supporting lease negotiations and risk/safety management; and
- Keeping everything on track—budget, timelines, and communications.
What You'll Bring
- Experience managing or coordinating facility projects.
- An eye for detail and confidence interpreting floor plans and documentation.
- A solutions-focused mindset and the ability to juggle priorities.
- Strong communication skills and a knack for building great working relationships.
- Confidence using digital tools like Microsoft Office (and bonus points if you're familiar with Visio).
- A qualification in project management (or similar) is desirable, but not essential.
Why Join Us?
Aside from the chance to work in an iconic location (and take part in some very unique projects), you'll be part of a friendly team that values initiative, flexibility, and good humour. We offer a supportive environment and the chance to grow your skills in a role that truly makes a difference.
