About the role

• The position delivers competent level evidence-based clinical psychology services in the assessment, formulation and treatment of consumers with complex mental health issues, their families, carers, and relevant stakeholders, in an acute setting. This position operates as a member of an integrated, multidisciplinary mental health team with a focus on planning and provision of clinical care and therapeutic interventions within a recovery and trauma informed framework.
• Aftercare clinicians provide timely mental health postvention and brief interventions to consumers who have recently received care through TPCH Emergency Department, Nujum Jawa Crisis Stabilisation Unit, and Qld Ambulance Mental Health Co-Responders. This service is delivered via telephone and telehealth, hospital outpatient clinics, and at consumers' homes in the community.

About you

Our ideal candidate will be someone who can carry out the following key accountabilities in accordance with the Metro North Health's values:

• Deliver competent level clinical psychology services to consumers with complex mental health and alcohol and other drug treatment needs based on valid and reliable evidence, in accordance with professional practice, ethical and mental health standards to ensure culturally appropriate consumer focused outcomes.

• Provide competent level Psychology advice and education to the multidisciplinary team, operational supervisors, and key stakeholders regarding professional standards and clinical service development.
• Participate in the identification, development, and implementation of clinical practices, procedures and protocols and other quality and service improvement and research activities within the Mental Health Service to continually improve consumer care.
