The purpose of the Manager (Rollingstock) is to manage all technical activities throughout the different phases of the program including managing the relationship and expectations of the Operator, Contractor, and any other relevant Stakeholders.

Some of your responsibilities will include:
• Proactively contribute expertise to an internal multi-disciplinary team to provide specialist advice relative to a heavy rail environment on best practice operations and management.
• Manage rollingstock requirements ensuring technical content, strategies and deliverables are approved, monitored for cost and time and all necessary approvals are obtained in line with the contractual obligations.
• Provide technical advice and knowledge in meetings and in the provision of reports for both internal and external contractors.
• Establish strong effective working relationships with all stakeholders to ensure performance-based outcomes of the contract are achieved.
• Proactive leadership, addressing all aspects of staff and contractor performance management including recruitment and selection/engagement, appraising and developing staff/management of contractors, ethical behaviour and decision-making.
Requirements of the role:
• Ability to understand and interpret Engineering and Technical Reports and Drawings to facilitate technical discussions between the Operator, Contractor and any other relevant Stakeholders.
• Diligently manage complex contractual arrangements and performance specifically in the provision of delivery, maintenance and operational services.
• Collaborate by providing information and advice in a timely, proactive and manner with the team, project and all internal and external stakeholders.
• Embrace change and lead with focus and optimism in an environment of complexity and ambiguity.
• Make insightful and considered decision in the analyses of data and in supporting others to achieve outcomes.
• Role model persistence and support others to deliver shared objectives for the project.
