Planning and Strategic Performance is responsible for a range of strategic planning, performance, reporting and State Budget functions for the Queensland Police Service. Our purpose is to inform and support strategic planning and decisionmaking in the QPS including environmental scanning and operational planning; provide transparency and accountability through organisational reporting and strategic performance management; and delivery of strategic budget services.

As part of this role, you will require strong analytical skills and the ability to translate data for the Queensland Police Service Senior Executive. Experience in writing Cabinet Budget Review Committee submissions, policing, criminology, law, finance, or a similar criminal justice related field will be considered favourably.

Your key accountabilities

The core capability requirements for this role are:

• Provide high quality, well-researched advice to senior management in relation to Service-related strategy, policy, planning, reporting and performance issues.
• Manage projects and research tasks as required.
• Contribute to the development of Branch goals and objectives, and making a positive contribution as an effective team member.
• Prepare complex correspondence, briefings and submissions for senior management, the Minister, Cabinet and other diverse audiences in accordance with organisational requirements.
• Consult and liaise effectively with high-level stakeholders within the organisation and relevant Government departments and non-government organisations on Service-related strategy, policy, planning, reporting and performance issues.
