We are seeking an Electrical Engineer who is a Registered Professional Engineer of Queensland (RPEQ), to join our team supporting and maintaining Intelligent Transport Systems and Electrical (ITS&E) infrastructure assets within the state-controlled road network. The team oversees local ITS and electrical asset planning and project manages delivery of ITS&E projects, along with supporting elements of road safety and network upgrades.

THE ROLE:
As a Senior Engineer (Electrical) you will ensure the efficient and effective operation of TMR's roadside Intelligent Transport Systems (ITS), Lighting and Traffic Signals, with a primary focus on design and technical governance. You will coordinate the activities of the design team, be responsible for RPEQ certification of design schemes and conduct design reviews of large design schemes. You will also project manage design and construction work packages that are tendered out to market. You must be currently as a Registered Professional Engineer of Queensland (RPEQ), your application will not be considered if you are not registered.

The ideal candidate will exhibit a keen understanding of infrastructure maintenance, delivery standards and practices, along with construction contracts. We are looking for a professional with robust analytical and technical skills, to foster ongoing improvements in system efficiency and technology. A collaborative spirit is essential - a team player who will contribute to shaping team objectives and consistently delivers high-quality outcomes. Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills are imperative, with an ability to articulating complex issues and proposing innovative solutions to diverse audiences. You will be skilled in building enduring partnerships and securing stakeholder commitment to support initiatives and drive actions forward.
The ideal candidate must have knowledge of relevant Acts and Regulations (WHS, Electrical Safety Act 2002, Electrical Safety Regulation 2013), Australian Standards AS3000, AS1158, TMR and Austroads Standards and Specifications.
MANDATORY QUALIFICATIONS AND CONDITIONS:
• A four-year, Washington Accord accredited, Bachelor of Engineering degree in electrical or electronics or equivalent which is assessed/accepted by Engineers Australia against Washington Accord benchmarks.
• Registration as a Registered Professional Engineer Queensland (RPEQ).
• Current C class driver's license.
• Travel within SEQ may be a requirement of the role.
