Teacher Aide - Mungar State School

Mungar State School seeks a kind, enthusiastic and dedicated Teacher Aide to join the team. This is a temporary part-time position offered at 0.14 FTE and 10.9 hours per fortnight (working on Fridays, 5 hours per week plus 45mins per day accrued towards pay for term holiday periods) until 12 December 2025, unless otherwise determined.

As a successful applicant, you will contribute to a school environment of committed educators who work collaboratively to deliver quality education.

To be suitable for this role, you will be required to be willing to work from Prep to Year 6 supporting all Diverse Learners.

About the Role

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  • Administrative duties including typing teachers' notes and work programs, compiling and supervising class rolls, duplicating/ photocopying teaching materials, collation and duplication of exam papers, recording of examination results, compiling students results records, checking bus lists, assisting in organising off-site activities.
  • Supervision of small groups of students, undertaking specific learning activities designed by a teacher, when the teacher is not in the room but is available to be called on if needed.
  • Mentoring other teacher aides and/or volunteers.
  • Conducting reading groups, maths groups, art activities, and sports activities, including the gathering of applicable resources, in cooperation with teachers.
  • Collecting money from students for various school activities.
  • Supervision of students on the playground, bus, during sporting activities and school excursions in partnership with a teacher.

  • Strong communication skills - ability to follow teacher instructions and give simple supportive directions to students.
  • Confidence managing small groups and maintaining a calm and supportive environment.
  • Organisational skills - ability to assist with classroom organisation, including preparing resources, displays and learning materials.
  • Team Player Attitude - flexible, proactive and ready to contribute positively to the school. Willingness to work collaboratively with teachers and other staff.
  • Empathy and patience - a genuine interest in student wellbeing, growth and success with a caring, calm and student-centred approach.
