We are seeking an experienced Assistant Director of Nursing to lead the Voluntary Assisted Dying Pharmacy Review Project. What you'll do
As the Assistant Director of Nursing, you will be responsible for managing the Voluntary Assisted Dying Pharmacy Review Project. Currently, there is a centralised pharmacy model for management of voluntary assisted dying substances. Pharmacists employed by QVAD Pharmacy in Metro South are the only authorised suppliers of the voluntary assisted dying substance which can present challenges for services outside of Southeast Queensland. This feasibility project will determine the most effective and sustainable model for providing voluntary assisted dying pharmacy services across Queensland. This rewarding role is a fixed-term temporary opportunity located in Brisbane CBD with full-time hours. About you
We are searching for someone who demonstrates:
- Ability to lead significant and complex projects in health service delivery or clinical policy.
- Negotiation, consultation, facilitation, leadership and conflict management skills.
- Ability to develop effective working and strategic relationships with a wide variety of internal and external stakeholders at all levels, from frontline staff to executive leaders.
- Proven ability to evaluate models of care and identify relevant factors to achieve a sustainable model of service delivery.
- Ability to operate within a complex and sensitive environment, engaging respectfully and effectively with stakeholders who may have differing views.
- Ability to provide authoritative written advice to senior management on a range of complex issues and ability to prepare complex submissions, briefings and reports.
Mandatory qualifications and other requirements
*~Appointment to this position requires proof of qualification and registration with the Nursing and Midwifery Board of Australia as a registered nurse. Certified copies of the requirement information must be provided to the appropriate manager prior to commencement of employment.
*~ Vaccine Preventable Disease (VPD): Health Care Workers in Queensland Health whose occupation poses a potential risk of exposure to blood or body fluids are required to provide evidence of vaccinations or proof that they are not susceptible (due to priorexposure to the disease and therefore have natural immunity) to the following VPD's Hepatitis B, Measles, Mumps, Rubella, Varicella and Pertussis (diphtheria, tetanus and pertussis containing vaccine) according to the Queensland Health Policy.
