As the Senior Creative Officer, you will be the hands-on creative force within our team, responsible for taking on design work across multiple mediums, including graphic design and content creation for the digital landscape. You’re a creative “allrounder” with a versatile skill set that includes sound videography and animation abilities.

In this role, you'll excel in graphic design and content creation for both digital and traditional channels. Your digital-first perspective reflects your passion for innovative storytelling and your ability to align content with digital and social media trends. You will play a pivotal role in supporting the Creative Services team, producing engaging, high-quality assets that align with the department's objectives. Your storytelling prowess will shine as you craft compelling visual narratives for digital platforms, social media channels, the DETSI website, internal communications, traditional print, and external campaigns.

Creating digitally focused content will be one of your key responsibilities. You're confident behind the camera, capturing moments and refining your vision to align with key messages, ready to share your work promptly. You will proactively collaborate with business units to ideate and enhance projects, bringing assets to life. Your ability to brainstorm and storyboard content ideas will ensure that both
creative direction and audience engagement are at the forefront of every project. You'll have a deep understanding of tailoring content for specific social platforms to maximise performance.

Your role will also be collaborating closely with project team members on strategy development, creating in-house assets, overseeing production on shoot days, and providing insights as projects progress.

As a confident presenter, you'll effectively communicate your creative vision and strategic approach to stakeholders at all levels. Collaboration is essential, and you will work closely with teams across the Communications and Public Engagement  Branch (CaPE) to ensure consistency with brand guidelines and project requirements.

Your big-sky thinking approach will elevate the Department's creative capabilities, ensuring we maintain a competitive edge in the market.

What we're looking for
This position requires:
• Someone deeply passionate about creating captivating digital assets. Your forte lies not just in digital and graphic design but in pioneering innovative storytelling in the digital realm.
• You'll be a maestro at tailoring content for various platforms, maximising engagement and performance. Your project management skills will shine as you deliver creative projects within budget and on time, amidst multiple priorities, always aligned with strategic goals.
• Your toolkit will include proficiency in digital and graphic design, along with hands-on experience in video filming and editing, using industry-standard tools to realise your creative vision.
• Beyond technical skills, you'll excel at fostering collaboration and nurturing a positive team culture, ensuring everyone's success with a customer-centric approach.
• Demonstrated ability to collaborate and contribute to the positive culture of a team with a track record of maintaining a customer service mentality and supporting all colleagues to succeed.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with a demonstrated ability to  work in partnership and build and maintain effective professional relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
• Previous experience participating as a member of a team of creative professionals to support, develop and deliver innovative communications strategies that enhances the reputation of portfolios that are part of DETSI.
• Contribution to workplace equity and diversity that enriches our culture of innovation, respect, and inclusion.
