Join the Strategic Business Engagement (SBE) Team!
Are you passionate about collaborating, problem-solving, and driving impactful outcomes? The Queensland Department of Justice (DoJ) is looking for talented professionals to join our SBE team - a vital part of the Strategy and Transformation Unit. This team's mission is to ensure the Department's digital investments are effectively governed, data and information provide actionable insights, and strategic priorities are enabled through modern technology. If you thrive on strategic alignment, contemporary business practices, and stakeholder collaboration, this is the opportunity for you.
About the Role
As a member of the SBE team, you will engage with key stakeholders across the department to deliver high-value consultation on developing business and technical requirements. Your role is central to ensuring alignment with enterprise architecture and driving solutions that support business goals and strategic vision. Supported by a strong network of collaboration, you'll also champion organisational maturity uplift through initiatives such as the Business Analysis Community of Practice and the enterprise Business Analysis resource hub.
Key Responsibilities
In this role, you will:
- Lead Consultations and Workshops - facilitate discussions with diverse stakeholder groups to gather, analyse and document complex business requirements in alignment with Queensland Government policy standards.
- Optimise Business Processes - analyse and optimise processes using industry best practice modelling techniques, such as BPMN, to enhance efficiencies and uplift service delivery outcomes.
- Drive Framework Development: provide expert advice on developing, maintaining, and implementing a robust Business Analysis framework, templates, and tools that align with governance, risk, and quality assurance standards.
- Foster Capability and Collaboration: Mentor junior analysts and enthusiasts, fostering continuous professional development. Lead initiatives to uplift organisational maturity, build internal capacity, and support team members in adopting contemporary practices.
What You'll Bring
We are looking for someone with:
- Expertise in eliciting, documenting, and analysing requirements, and applying techniques such as prototyping and process flows to ensure clarity.
- Strong analytical skills to address complex challenges, assess root causes, and propose forward-thinking solutions, including business case development.
- Advanced ability to consult, engage, and negotiate with diverse and cross functional teams and internal and external stakeholders.
- Experience in mitigating IT-related business risks and ensuring compliance with relevant governance standards.
- Robust experience in managing the end-to-end software development lifecycle and application of Agile and Waterfall methodologies.
- Exceptional written and verbal communication skills to produce high-quality documentation, reports, and advisory submissions.
- Strong leadership qualities, including the ability to inspire, mentor, and guide team members while delivering results for customers and stakeholders.
If you are driven, adaptable, and ready to make a difference, this is your moment to advance your career while delivering meaningful outcomes for DoJ and the people of Queensland.
