We are seeking a dedicated AO5 Communications Officer to join our dynamic team on a permanent basis. In this role, you will contribute your expertise to developing and executing innovative, proactive communications strategies and tactics designed to achieve the department's objectives. As a key member of our team, you will be instrumental in supporting the development and implementation of communication strategies and activities that
align to the department's objectives. With good attention to detail, a creative flair, and quality writing skills, you will be responsible for producing engaging content across a variety of channels, managing projects from start to end, and cultivating essential stakeholder relationships, while always championing and advising on best practice communications.
The ideal candidate is a strategic thinker — with creativity at your core, you are willing to approach tasks with a pioneering spirit. You must excel in creating clear, accessible, engaging content and storytelling opportunities, have the ability to prioritise effectively, and be open to embracing continual change and professional development. Moreover, you will bring to this role a versatile mindset, ready to adapt to evolving organisational needs and tackle new responsibilities head-on with a positive, proactive approach.
Key responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
- Support the development and implementation of a broad range of high-quality communication services, including supporting strategies and crafting plans.
- Build effective relationships with internal and external stakeholders, including proactive forward-planning, and providing strategic, solutions-focused advice.
- Understand, interpret and present complex information into storytelling opportunities.
- Develop content for a variety of platforms including online copy; social media content; stakeholder comms; sponsorships and other communications content as required.
- Support evaluation efforts to measure the effectiveness of communications plans and activities and undertake other reporting activities.
- Use awareness of the latest technologies, techniques, and networks to suggest innovative and improved communication services and tactics.
