  • Salary range: $2724.80 to $3361.60 p.f. (Classification)
  • 4 to 6 weeks annual leave with 14%-17.5% loading
  • 12.75% employer contribution to superannuation
  • Plus Salary Sacrificing options may be available

About your opportunity

The Townsville Hospital and Health Service (THHS) Building, Engineering and Maintenance Services (BEMS) is looking for an enthusiastic team member to join the BEMS Painting Trade to provide and maintain high quality plant and infrastructure facilities supporting patient care and staff accommodation throughout THHS. This position is required to maintain THHS assets including but not limited to new work, preventative and corrective maintenance. You will be required to undertake painting and repair works as required in construction and maintenance of buildings, plant and equipment throughout the Townsville Hospital and Health Service. On occasion travel to rural facilities may be required.

Requirements:

Mandatory qualifications and proof of registration

  • Possession of a relevant trade certificate or diploma from an Australian University, Registered Training Organisation or an overseas qualification deemed equivalent by the Australian Government and/or relevant registration body.
  • Licence to operate vehicle. This position requires the incumbent to operate a class C motor vehicle and an appropriate licence endorsement to operate this vehicle is required.
  • Highly desirable: Possession of a Queensland trade certificate or relevant industry experience in plastering.
  • Highly desirable: Asbestos awareness training and experience in the refurbishment/ sealing requirements of asbestos sheeting.
  • Highly desirable: High Risk Work Licence (Forklift).
  • Highly desirable: Medium Rigid QLD Licence.
  • This is a Vaccine Preventable Disease (VPD) risk role.
  • Probation period may apply.
  • Pre-employment checks will be conducted.
