In this role you will:

* Assist with the development and implementation of policy and legislation as relevant for QCS strategic directions, priorities and outcomes.
* Provide high quality reports, submissions, advice and critical analysis on significant, emerging and/or substantive policy and legislative issues to the  Minister, Commissioner and Executive Leadership levels.
* Prepare complex submissions and reports, briefing notes, presentations, publications and correspondence for various audiences, including Cabinet, Parliament and the general public. * Analyse emerging issues relating to offenders and corrective services that may be addressed through policy, legislative or procedural changes.
* Assist with the development and delivery of legislative proposals that meet community needs and expectations.
* Maintain a working knowledge and understanding of legislation, policy and procedures in relation to the management of offenders and prisoners.
* Ensure appropriate and ethical decision making regarding the development and implementation of proposals for legislative reform across the QCS.
* Participate in project activities which deliver clearly specified legislative outcome/s.
* Develop effective relationships with key internal and external stakeholders and represent QCS in inter-agency negotiations.
