An exciting opportunity exists for a Nurse Practitioner to join the Nurse-Led Walk-in Clinic (NLWiC) at Gympie Hospital, delivering high-quality, same-day healthcare to the local community. This role plays a vital part in improving health outcomes through early intervention and treatment of non-life-threatening episodic illness and injury. Based in the welcoming and community-driven town of Gympie—offering an affordable lifestyle, natural beauty, and strong local connection—you’ll lead and support a multidisciplinary team to provide person-centred, evidence-based care. The NLWiC model enables immediate access to care while supporting long-term health partnerships with General Practice and community services.

Key Responsibilities include:

  • Understand your broad responsibilities for safety and quality in healthcare, actively participate in continuous quality and safety improvement activities within the workplace and notify a relevant clinical or non-clinical responsible officer when concerns exist about workplace or patient safety.
  • Practice in accordance with code of ethics, professional standards and legislation affecting nursing practice by maintaining current knowledge and competence within scope of position.
  • Provide a comprehensive Nurse Practitioner service, effectively managing the safe clinical care of patients presenting with non-differentiated acute episodic illness and/ or injury.
  • Develop and maintain agreed Nurse Practitioner credentialing, including the medication formulary to support the highest level of clinical nursing practice and leadership as an autonomous health professional.

Remuneration value up to $149 350 p.a., comprising salary rates $75.27 - $78.59 p.h., employer contribution to superannuation (up to 12.75%) and annual leave loading (17.5%) (Nurse Grade 8) (part time position, 64 hrs p.f.).
