About the opportunity 

The Ambassador Program Team Leader is responsible to lead and manage the Ambassador Team service delivery within the Townsville University Hospital Emergency Department.

The Ambassador is a non-traditional security role that promotes a safe environment and provision of high-quality patient centred care through a patient-focused liaison within the Emergency Department. The role is focused on the pro-active engagement of patients, visitors and consumers to improve the ‘customer experience' to prevent and/or reduce aggressive/disruptive behaviour by utilising mature and well-developed communication skillsets and people-focused, respectful, empathetic, and supportive interactions.

Competitive salary and benefits:

We offer attractive remuneration packages and generous leave entitlements.

  • Salary range: $2818.50 to $3082.60 p.f. (OO4)
  • 5 weeks annual leave with 17.5% loading
  • 12.75% employer contribution to superannuation
  • Plus Salary Sacrificing options may be available

Requirements:

  • Whilst not mandatory, leadership experience in health care or customer service will be well regarded.
  • The successful candidate will be required to participate in a rotational two shift roster 10.00am to 6.00pm and 4.00pm to 12.00pm (midnight).  There may be a requirement to work weekends and public holidays.
  • The successful candidate must disclose in writing any pre-existing injury or medical condition in accordance with the Workers Compensation and Rehabilitation Act 2003.
  • The successful candidate must possess a high level of self-control, emotional stability and be prepared to encounter potentially traumatic incidents.
  • This is a Vaccine Preventable Disease (VPD) risk role. Hepatitis B, Measles, Mumps, Rubella, Varicella, Pertussis and Tuberculosis.
  • Pre-employment checks will be conducted.
