About your opportunity:
This position is an opportunity to work within the public healthcare system and work collaboratively with Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander communities, their health organisations and general practice, to realise the Cairns and Hinterland Hospital and Health Service vision of excellence in healthcare, wellbeing, research and education in Far North Queensland.
About your role:
- Support the implementation of well-integrated programs for First Peoples, families and communities from early intervention, primary prevention, public health, and access to secondary and tertiary care.
- Contribute to the planning of services and improvements in First Peoples health populations by facilitating processes to support local needs assessment, identify and correct system or process biases that prevent access and equity in healthcare services and programs.
- Advocate for the development of evidence based and culturally respectful health programs for First Peoples patients, families and communities.
- Assist the development of partnerships between the community, the CHHHS and other health-related non-government agencies in the provision of comprehensive health and community care.
- Effectively participate and contribute to creating a positive work environment through applying relevant CHHHS and Queensland health policies and procedures designed to deliver a fair, just and safe workplace, where there is high ethical behaviour and accountability.
