Your new opportunity
The Deputy Under Treasurer, Finance and Investment is a senior strategic leadership role, pivotal to shaping Queensland's economic performance. As a member of Treasury's Executive Leadership Team, you will provide expert advice and analysis to influence critical decision-making, optimise investment outcomes, and steward the state's fiscal and economic strategies. Collaborating
closely with senior officials, key stakeholders, and government-owned enterprises, you will lead major programs of work that advance Queensland's policy priorities and strengthen public value delivery.

In this role, you will:

  • Deliver authoritative advice to the Minister for Finance, Treasurer, and senior leadership, contributing to the state's fiscal and economic performance.
  • Champion investment opportunities to promote economic growth and create high value jobs within Queensland.
  • Oversee key functions, including the Queensland Government Insurance Fund and the Insurance Commission.
  • Drive the performance of government-owned enterprises, ensuring alignment with strategic objectives and delivery of better services for Queenslanders.
  • Represent Treasury in complex negotiations and consultations, demonstrating professionalism, flexibility, and a commitment to achieving optimal outcomes.
  • Provide strategic oversight of significant commercial transactions and infrastructure projects of economic importance to Queensland.
  • Lead and inspire a team of dedicated professionals, fostering innovation, accountability, and capability development to deliver against departmental and government priorities.
