Are you an experienced histology professional with a proven record in staff supervision and a passion for high-quality service delivery. We are seeking a Supervising Scientist to lead and support our dedicated histology team while coordinating with radiology services to deliver exceptional patient care. The role is to provide authoritative advice and apply well developed management and scientific knowledge and skills to ensure the provision of an integrated, comprehensive, cost effective and quality Forensic Histology and Radiography service in line with the policies, guidelines and strategies of Forensic Pathology and Coronial Services.

Apply well developed current knowledge, skills and expertise to the management of the Forensic Histology and Radiography services pursuant to the Coroners Act 2003 and ensure alignment with Forensic Pathology and Coronial Services (FPaCS) imperatives.
Key competencies (role specific criteria)
You will be assessed on your ability to demonstrate the following:
- High level of scientific knowledge, expertise and skill in Forensic Histology.
- High level or the ability to acquire knowledge, expertise and skill in Forensic Radiography.
- Ability to negotiate, consult and communicate using effective interpersonal skills to provide a client focused service to internal and external clients.
- Ability to provide operational management to the FPaCS Forensic Histology and Radiography teams
- High level of knowledge, expertise and skill in the management of human, financial and physical resources consistent with the strategic direction of FPaCS.
- Ability to develop collaborative working relationships with key stakeholders and team members and ability to effectively communicate and influence staff.
Qualifications, registrations and other requirements
- The successful applicant must hold a degree in Science or Applied Science with a major emphasis in anatomical or medical laboratory science.
