About the role

Fixed term temporary full time opportunity to be a member of a multidisciplinary team to deliver high level nutrition and dietetics clinical services to patients of The Prince Charles Hospital, and to other stakeholders/ customers of the Department of Nutrition & Dietetics and Queensland Health. This position will be required to cover complex clinical areas, which may initially include gastroenterology and/or intensive care and/or cystic fibrosis and/or lung transplant, with potential to rotate into other clinical areas in line with organisational and operational requirements.     

About you

Our ideal candidate will be someone who can carry out the following key accountabilities in accordance with the Metro North Health's values:

  • Apply independent professional judgement to a complex caseload, adapting routine clinical practice based on valid and reliable evidence.
  • Develop clinical practice knowledge and expertise through self-directed learning and actively engaging in professional development activities, including local/ state-wide/ national workshops or conferences; participating in the Dietitians Australia APD program, including acting as a mentor in the program, and performance appraisal and development planning.
  • Provide clinical education and supervision, including: lectures/ tutorials, primary supervisory role for students, and clinical practice supervision to less experienced practitioners, to ensure the maintenance of professional clinical standards for nutrition and dietetics.
