Fellow in Breast and Endocrine Surgery
Princess Alexandra Hospital, Woolloongabba
Department of Breast & Endocrine Surgery are looking for Fellow to join their team. To provide ongoing inpatient and outpatient surgical care; to assist with surgical operating lists; to supervise training of Registrars & Interns; and to also partake in private surgical assisting, surgical assessment clinics, and breast cancer research at the Wesley Hospital and Wesley Breast Clinic. Candidates must be able to demonstrate adequate past experience in and interest in breast and endocrine surgery and management of breast and endocrine patients, and preferably also confirm an interest in clinical research

About the Role
- Provide inpatient and outpatient care by
- Assessing patients, determining and instigating appropriate investigations
- Establish management plan for patients in consultation with the consultant
- Where appropriate, ensure discharge planning commences early in the process of care (inpatients only)
- Communicate assessment findings, proposed management plans and alternatives to patient and carers and seek consent
- Gather input from appropriate multidisciplinary team for patients ongoing clinical care
- Continually monitor and review patient progress and adjust the management plan when necessary; and
- Ensure timely, effective and appropriate clinical handover with other staff and healthcare providers.
- Assist and conduct surgical operating sessions at Princess Alexandra Hospital.
- Attend and participate in Surgical Outpatient Clinics at Princess Alexandra Hospital including the combined Breast Oncology Multidisciplinary Clinic.
