About us:
Rockhampton Hospital is a 305-bed facility and is the main referral hospital for Central Queensland, now providing integrated cancer care services in Central Queensland in the newly established building boasting state of the art medical equipment. The other primary hospitals within the health service are Gladstone, Emerald, Yeppoon, and Biloela together with many smaller rural units transfer patients through to Rockhampton for specialist care and investigation.
About the role:
Provide and maintain a highly responsive and effective Switchboard communication service to Rockhampton Hospital and Central Queensland Health staff, clients, and the community.
- Perform general administrative duties to contribute to the effective daily operations of the switchboard department.
- Communicate regularly with all departments of the hospital to maintain accurate and current records for effective switchboard operations.
- Operate alternative communication systems to regularly liaise with hospital staff in the event of an emergency or security response situation.
- Execute ethical decision-making in the achievement of departmental and organisational objectives and prioritise workload effectively and perform duties responsibly in the absence of supervision.
About you:
- Ability to exercise personal judgement and initiative in the provision of efficient telecommunication services including problem resolution and emergent response.
- High level of experience and knowledge of general office and reception duties, preferably within a Health Care environment.
- Ability to communicate at all levels and effectively establish and foster networks across the facility to assist in streamlining daily processes.
- Proficiency in the application of computerised information systems and applications including Microsoft Word and Excel.
What we offer:
Total monthly remuneration value of up to $5,696 p.m. is comprised of:
- An hourly rate between $38.81 - $43.16 p.h.
- 12.75% employer superannuation contribution
- 17.5% leave loading
