The Role
An opportunity has become available for a Psychologist – Senior (Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander - Identified) to join Gold Coast Health (GCH) where the focus of our 12 000-strong team is on providing world-class health care to people living in the Gold Coast, and northern New South Wales region of Australia.
You will
- Deliver high level psychology clinical services
- Independently exercise clinical judgement in decision making and clinical management
- Provide clinical practice professional supervision to less experienced psychologists
- Actively participate in the Waijungbah Jarjums service promoting Indigenous workforce development
About you
To be successful in this position you will require:
- Under s25 of the Anti-Discrimination Act 1991, there is a genuine occupational requirement for the incumbent to be Indigenous to the Aboriginal or Torres Strait Islander Community
- Tertiary degree in Psychology
- AHPRA Registration
- Evidence of vaccination, or be able to be vaccinated against and remain vaccinated against - Measles, Mumps, Rubella, Varicella, Pertussis and Hepatitis B
- Tuberculosis screening, to identify if the tuberculosis vaccination may be required
- Declaration of serious discipline history must be disclosed
- Criminal History Screening will be required for new employees (GCH will cover cost)

- Base salary ranging from $128 169 - $137 918 per annum
About Us
Waijungbah Jarjums is an Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander model of care co-designed and developed alongside the local Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander community. The model is founded on the Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander definition of health as holistic and provides care to families from conception to the first 2000 days (5 years). The service is provided for the First Nations community by First Nations Midwives, Child Health Nurses, Advanced Heath Workers, Administrative Officers, and Allied Health.
