Are you ready to take on a challenging and rewarding role that combines strategic coordination, operational excellence, and leadership? The Digital & Information Services (DIS) branch is seeking a highly motivated and skilled Senior Business Support Officer to join our team.This is your opportunity to make a meaningful impact by supporting the Chief Digital Officer (CDO) and the broader DIS leadership team in delivering high-quality outcomes for the department.
About the Role
As the Senior Business Support Officer, you will be the driving force behind the seamless coordination of executive documents, submissions, and correspondence on behalf of the CDO. Your expertise will ensure the accurate preparation, review and finalisation of critical financial documents, including budget reports and forecasts, financial performance analyses, as well as responses to significant stakeholder matters.
You will play a key role in managing human resource and financial performance reporting, providing high-level advice on policies, procedures, and workforce management issues. Your ability to analyse and compile information will support informed decision-making and strategic planning across the division.
In addition, you will oversee corporate governance requirements, including stocktakes, audits, and compliance activities, while also providing guidance on utilities, facilities, and records management. Your support for digital procurement initiatives and mentoring of the AO4 Support Officer will further enhance the efficiency and effectiveness of the Office of the CDO.
What We're Looking For
We are seeking a candidate who demonstrates:
Financial Expertise: High-level skills in budget, revenue, and debt management processes, as well as experience with financial management systems (e.g., SAP, Financial Reporter, Budget Builder, Microsoft Excel).
HR Excellence: Proven capabilities in delivering contemporary human resource services, including providing expert advice to management and experience with HR systems (e.g., QSS, Aurion).
Organisational Agility: Exceptional organisational skills to manage competing priorities, meet tight deadlines, and deliver results in a fast-paced environment.
Superior Communication: Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to prepare complex reports, submissions, and correspondence using tools like SharePoint, Teams, eDOCS, and MECS.
Relationship Building: A proven ability to foster positive relationships with team members, stakeholders, and clients.
Commitment to Inclusion: A dedication to workplace equity, diversity, and inclusion, with a focus on supporting First Nations peoples and contributing to a culture of respect and innovation.
