This position is based in Brisbane and flexible arrangements can be considered upon application, including working from home and working remotely at a Regional QBCC office subject to availability.

If working from a regional office, travel to the Brisbane office base will be required frequency to be negotiated with successful candidate) to fulfil project service delivery and operational business needs and may involve travel outside of normal office hours and/or overnight accommodation.

 

Key Outcomes and Accountabilities 

The aim of this role is to:

  • Undertake protracted and complex investigations
  • Assist with the operation of the team by providing advice concerning investigations and providing QBCC staff with appropriate direction, guidance, training and assistance.
  • Interpret legislation, codes, standards, policies, guidelines and practices related to investigations and provide high level written and verbal advice as required.
  • Preparation of papers and providing in-person updates as required for the QBCC's committees and statutory bodies including, but not limited to, the QBCC Board, Regulatory and Resolution Committee.

Candidate Attributes 

  1. Demonstrated ability in conducting and managing complex investigations resulting in criminal and administrative outcomes.
  2. Demonstrated ability to build and maintain relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
  3. Highly developed conceptual, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
  4. Highly developed written, oral, and interpersonal communication skills, including compilation of comprehensive reports, along with mediation and negotiation skills with particular emphasis on managing the investigation process and related matters.

Requirements of the Role

  • At least seven years investigative experience in law enforcement and/or regulatory environments, including experience with giving evidence in Court as an investigator.
  • Possession of an investigation-based qualification.
