The Role
An opportunity has become available for an Occupational Therapist – Senior (High Complexity Cognitive Care Service) to join Gold Coast Health (GCH) where the focus of our 12 000-strong team is on providing world-class health care to people living in the Gold Coast, and northern New South Wales region of Australia.
You will
- Use advanced knowledge to manage complex behaviours and disabilities, supporting discharge and preventing hospital readmissions
- Provide senior-level Occupational Therapist services for complex disability and discharge planning within a multidisciplinary team
- Apply expert judgement in NDIS, QCAT, assessments, behaviour management, equipment, and home modifications
- Manage complex caseloads, adapting practice based on evidence
About you
To be successful in this position you will require:
- Tertiary degree in Occupational Therapy
- AHPRA Registration
- Driver Licence
- Evidence of vaccination, or be able to be vaccinated against and remain vaccinated against - Measles, Mumps, Rubella, Varicella, Pertussis and Hepatitis B
- Tuberculosis screening, to identify if the tuberculosis vaccination may be required
- Declaration of serious discipline history must be disclosed
- Criminal History Screening will be required for new employees (GCH will cover cost)

- Base salary ranging from $128 169 - $137 918 per annum

The High Complexity Cognitive Care Service is an interprofessional team comprising physicians, psychiatrists, allied health and nursing led by the medical consultant under the joint governance of the Departments of General Medicine and Aged Care and Mental Health and Specialist Services.
