About us:

Gladstone Hospital is an 83-bed hospital and offers a range of general and specialist inpatient and outpatient services including emergency, general medicine and surgery, basic orthopaedic, clinical investigation, obstetrics, maternity, gynaecology, high dependency and coronary care, palliative care, medical imaging, pathology and paediatrics.

About the role:

To effectively coordinate and process approved patient travel needs in accordance with the Queensland Health Travel and Accommodation Policy and Standards.

  • Coordinate approved patient travel and process travel claims in a timely manner, in accordance with established policies and guidelines.
  • Provide advice to clients about eligibility requirements and travel options.
  • Assist in the reconciliation and preparation for payments of accounts.
  • Participate in the development, implementation, review and maintenance of internal systems, processes and work practices.
  • Identify areas for improvement and recommend enhancements to existing practices.

About you:

  • Proven ability or ability to quickly acquire and apply knowledge of relevant standards, policies and procedures.
  • Demonstrated ability to operate autonomously maintaining an effective workflow in an environment of deadlines, competing, and changing priorities.
  • Sound oral communication and conflict resolution skills, and the ability to liaise effectively with a broad range of client groups.
  • Coordinate approved patient travel and process travel claims in a timely manner, in accordance with established policies and guidelines.
  • Identify areas for improvement and recommend enhancements to existing practices.

What we offer:

Total monthly remuneration value of up to $1,627 is comprised of:

  • An hourly rate between $38.81 - $43.16 p.h.
  • 12.75% employer superannuation contribution
  • 17.5% leave loading
