As our Senior Business Services Officer, you will:
• Provide high level financial support and advice to the Director, Fire Ant Suppression Taskforce (FAST) and Finance Manager, National Fire Ant Eradication program (NFAEP) for business operations including revenue and expenditure accounting activities, financial governance and ongoing development of a wide range of business strategies spanning the business needs of FAST.
• Lead the preparation of the Fire Ant Suppression Taskforce annual budget estimates and implement procedures to maximise the accountability, efficiency and compliance with financial management policy, standards and practices.

As our Senior Business Services Officer, you will:
• Provide high level financial support and advice to the Director, Fire Ant Suppression Taskforce (FAST) and Finance Manager, National Fire Ant Eradication program (NFAEP) for business operations including revenue and expenditure accounting activities, financial governance and ongoing development of a wide range of business strategies spanning the business needs of FAST.
• Lead the preparation of the Fire Ant Suppression Taskforce annual budget estimates and implement procedures to maximise the accountability, efficiency and compliance with financial management policy, standards and practices.
• Prepare monthly and ad-hoc financial management reports, reconciliations, specific purpose periodic reports, briefing notes, presentations and correspondence on a range of complex financial management, budgeting and forecasting issues.
• Provide high level financial analysis, scenario planning, forecasting and reporting to the Director FAST and Finance Manager, NFAEP on a wide range of business services and strategies.
• Ensure that the FAST annual budget and budget revisions are accurately reflected in the budget management system and are reconciled with the budget allocations.
• Monitor financial performance against budgets and targets, including identification of financial risks and the provision of recommendations and strategies to mitigate identified risks.
• Provide expert advice and support to the FAST management team and staff to improve financial performance and accountability.
• Provide specialist advice on expenditure and revenue accounting targets and activities, integrated budget management, and manage a complex budget within the FAST-NFAEP finance team.
You may also have –
• While not mandatory, a relevant degree (i.e. Bachelor of Business) from a recognised tertiary institution, would be well regarded.
