Finance Services provides financial leadership, business advice, strategic financial policy, and governance to enable Metro South Health to deliver quality and efficient health services to the community. The Department is responsible for the provision of management and financial accounting services, business performance and analysis as well as Private Practice and Revenue functions.

About the Role

• Assist in the provision of education and advice to Medical Officers, in terms of morbidity data and documentation requirements for the purpose of clinical coding and casemix-based funding, as well as providing assistance in terms of research requests and information requirements to Senior Management.
• Actively participate in and contribute to quality activities relating to coded data, system data and medical record documentation, including the coding audit and end of month validation processes and other quality activities as required.
• Data entry of all coded morbidity data into HBCIS and the registration of all relevant malignant neoplasms and other conditions as required by the Queensland Cancer Registry.
• Clarification of inconsistent, ambiguous, or non-specific clinical information contained within medical records by consultation with the responsible Medical Officer while ensuring the efficient and timely completion of clinical classification to meet Hospital and State requirements.
