You will be a strategic thinker, problem solver and excellent communicator and will have proven experience leading the delivery of large-scale, complex, multi-disciplinary projects across a geographically dispersed workforce.
As a Project Manager in the QPS Transformation Office, you will work across a range of strategic, high-priority projects focused on designing and implementing major transformative benefits to the organisation and community. Specifically, you will lead and manage complex projects delivering organisational and operational improvement. You will lead teams and work with stakeholders across disciplines, to achieve key outcomes.
You will be a strategic thinker, problem solver and excellent communicator and will have proven experience leading the delivery of large-scale, complex, multi disciplinary projects across a geographically dispersed workforce. You will enjoy a challenge and driving results, and all for a worthy cause, our frontline officers and our community. Alongside your depth of technical expertise (in project management involving organisational change and improvement in functional areas and/or operations) and relevant project management qualifications you will demonstrate an alignment with the QPS values.
The Transformation Office provides overall portfolio reporting and project delivery capability across the priority projects of the Queensland Police Service (QPS), focused on designing and implementing transformation for major benefits to the organisation and community. The range of projects we deliver are unique and varied and span aspects of operations, facilities, technology, assets and equipment, human resources, training & development, procurement and policy/legislation, in a policing environment.

Your key accountabilities
The core capability requirements for this role are:
- Analyse, develop, design, and implement project plans to deliver projects.
- Plan and manage project activities in line with Queensland Police Service and Whole of Government best practice and standards and following project management methodologies.
- Provide high level strategic direction and leadership in the analysis, design, development and implementation of projects and related business strategies and organisational change.
- Provide regular project progress status and financial reports to stakeholders and prepare, review and present project reports, briefing notes, submissions, and other correspondence.
- Work collaboratively with internal and external stakeholders to deliver project outcomes and to ensure compliance with business governance processes.
- Provide guidance to project stakeholders to facilitate informed business decisions that improve business processes and meet changing and challenging business needs.
- Represent the program or project team in a variety of forums.
Role Requirements
Qualification
- Relevant tertiary and/or project management qualifications will be highly regarded and proven experience of project management and senior stakeholder engagement and facilitation skills is essential.
Technical/ Operational/ Educational experience
- Demonstrated experience and success in delivering projects involving organisational change/reform and operational improvement in a complex, large scale organisation.
