About your opportunity:
Mossman Hospital and Multi-Purpose Health Service is the main health care facility serving the communities of Mossman, Port Douglas and the Daintree, comprising a 13 bed Acute / General Medical Ward, Emergency and Outpatient Department with an average of 50 presentations per day and an 8-bed residential aged care ward.
About your role:
- Provide effective and efficient clinical care to a diverse range of patients and conditions and work in collaboration with the Nurse Unit Manager and Associate Nurse Unit Manager to ensure the safety, security, personal integrity and maintenance of safe standards in patient care.
- Use autonomous decision making to manage the shift and determine best utilisation of limited resources in balance with patient safety.
- Advocate for patients under your care understanding that communication to the patients and team needs to be in a clear and concise manner.
- Take the clinical lead for sick and deteriorating patients providing care that is evidence based and complies with CHHHS policies and procedures.
- Maintain sound knowledge of relevant legislation, guidelines and standards specifically relating to nursing practice and ensure safe, appropriate application of same.
