We are seeking an experienced and motivated planning and development lawyer to join our high performing and agile legal team, providing strategic legal advice on a range of complex and exciting planning matters. More specifically, this is an opportunity for a senior lawyer to manage the conduct of planning litigation for the department.

We want you to be a part of a team that is making a difference. Legal Services in the department prides ourselves on our excellent customer service and our ability to work collaboratively with our internal stakeholders to achieve the department's strategic objectives.
In this role your key responsibility will be to manage the planning litigation for the department. You will effectively and efficiently manage all stages of the litigation through working collaboratively with:
• Planning and technical officers within the department and other agencies; and
• External legal providers including Crown Law.
You will also have the opportunity to provide high quality strategic legal advice that is practical, and solutions focused in relation to matters including:
• Planning, environment, infrastructure and other development legislation
• Administrative law and statutory interpretation
• State and local government powers and responsibilities for the delivery of major projects and infrastructure including residential, commercial and industrial projects.
The successful candidate will have:
• Knowledge of planning and environment, and/or administrative law.
• Ability to contribute to the roefsssionla develpmetn of others in the team.
The successful candidate:
• Must be admitted, or qualify for admission, as a Solicitor or Barrister of the Supreme Court of Queensland, with demonstrated relevant experience; and
• A minimum of 4 years post admission experience in relevant practice areas is preferred.

• 36.25 hrs per week (full time hours or pro-rata for part-time)
• Up to 12.75% employer super contributions
