The Role

An opportunity has become available for a Senior Director (Clinical Governance Service) to join Gold Coast Health (GCH) where the focus of our 12 000-strong team is on providing world-class health care to people living in the Gold Coast, and northern New South Wales region of Australia.

You will

  • Provide authoritative strategic advice and guidance
  • Strategically plan, allocate and operationally manage Clinical Governance Services
  • Lead and advocate for patient safety, quality, clinical risk management, consumer feedback, and initiatives to advance clinical practice
  • Lead consultation, negotiation, and collaboration with key internal and external stakeholders to deliver on priority clinical governance strategies

About you

To be successful in this position you will require:

  • Tertiary degree in Nutrition and Dietetics, Occupational Therapy, Pharmacy, Physiotherapy, Psychology, Social Work or Speech Pathology
  • AHPRA Registration
  • Practical experience and knowledge of contemporary clinical governance methodologies
  • Evidence of vaccination, or be able to be vaccinated against and remain vaccinated against - Measles, Mumps, Rubella, Varicella, Pertussis and Hepatitis B
  • Tuberculosis screening, to identify if the tuberculosis vaccination may be required
  • Declaration of serious discipline history must be disclosed
  • Criminal History Screening will be required for new employees (GCH will cover cost)

Salary

  • Permanent full time
  • Base salary ranging from $184 018 - $197 206 per annum

Clinical Governance Service manages needs of the health service, enhancing the capacity of GCHHS to advance clinical practice that aligns with the Hospital and Health Service goals and strategic initiatives. This role has 5 direct reports; Director of Patient Safety and Quality Improvement, Director Healthcare Standards, Manager Healthcare and Analytics CGS, Manager Consumer Feedback Service and the Culture and Business Manager.
