About the Role
As a Senior Project Officer, you will provide support to vulnerable students and families, including facilitating access to multi-agency services focused on engaging or re-engaging students in continuous schooling. Student Connect aims to promote early and timely responses for students and their families through the provision of timely, evidence-based support. You will have strong relational skills, build effective partnerships with internal and external stakeholders, maintain accurate records, and provide support to improve educational outcomes and student engagement.
Your Opportunity
As the Senior Project Officer, you will:
- Undertake specialist project activities by overseeing the development, implementation and monitoring of programs plan and phases, including the coordination of the various activities associated with achieving the project objectives.
The Senior Project Officer reports to the School Principal or nominated delegate.
Your Responsibilities
As the Senior Project Officer, your responsibilities will include, but are not limited to:
- Undertake all aspects of project management including scope, time, cost, procurement, quality, risk, human resource and communication management ensuring alignment with the strategic direction of the college/school.
- Undertake planning, consultation and research to ensure best practice approaches to the design, implementation and evaluation of projects being managed.
- Effectively communicate, collaborate, maintain and partner with key stakeholders, clients and external suppliers/vendors developing strategic working relationships to ensure solutions are aligned to business requirements.
Highly Desirable Skills and Experience for This Role
While not mandatory, it is highly desirable that you have:
- Experience working with at-risk or disengaged students and their families
- Ability to develop and implement effective support plans
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills to work with families, schools, and external stakeholders
- Demonstrated cultural competency, particularly in working with First Nations students and individuals from diverse backgrounds
- High standards of confidentiality, professional conduct, and information privacy
- Familiarity with the education, youth justice, or child protection systems
- Experience working in multi-disciplinary teams
- Understanding of the principles of inclusive education
