About the opportunity 

This position will provide operational services within the Ayr and Home Hill Health Facilities. The role services clinical and non-clinical areas by attending to a vast range of general duties including cleaning, porterage, maintenance of linen stores and supplies, mortuary services, food services, grounds maintenance, garden services, transport and waste management. Operational service officers also actively support patient hygiene, assist clinicians with care delivery and clinical store delivery.

This positions contribution is vital in providing quality care to all patients  who present to the Ayr and Home Hill  facilities.  Operational Service Officer rosters are staffed 365 days a year.

Home Hill Health Service is a 14-bed rural facility predominately providing aged care, rehabilitation and renal dialysis services to the local community. The renal satellite unit has eight chairs and operates three days a week with extra services when required.  

Famous for being the sugar capital of Australia, the Burdekin district is located about an hour's drive south of Townsville.  Nestled in the delta of the Burdekin River, its two popular townships, Ayr and Home Hill, are linked by the iconic Burdekin Bridge and are surrounded by stunning natural beauty.

Competitive salary and benefits:

We offer attractive remuneration packages and generous leave entitlements.

  • Salary range: $2374.50 to $2533.30 p.f. (OO2)
  • 4 weeks annual leave with 17.5% loading
  • 12.75% employer contribution to superannuation
  • Plus Salary Sacrificing options may be available

Requirements:

  • Drivers Licence: This position requires the incumbent to operate a manual and automatic vehicle, and a C licence endorsement to operate this type of vehicle is required.  Proof of this endorsement must be provided before commencement of duty.
  • This is a Vaccine Preventable Disease (VPD) risk role. Hepatitis B, Measles, Mumps, Rubella, Varicella, Pertussis and Tuberculosis.
  • Pre-employment checks will be conducted.
